I think that if Fef ever ended up on the throne she’d turn the Alternian Empire into some sort of expansionist welfare state that has to keep conquering planets to fund her massive projects, like some kind of conservative’s acid nightmare.

i don’t know, i think she would conquer other planets for the sake of bestowing trolls’ obviously superior technological advancements on them

and like when shes ~reformed troll society she’s like oh no, what if there are other worlds out there where people are still being unkind to each other

better get out there and show them how compassion works.

you’ve really got to wonder what the young condence’s views were and if she wanted to save everyone too at the very beginning.

i feel like feferi would have to be REALLY GOOD at thinking critically about her assumptions and advantages to make it not at all skeevy, and personally i can’t really buy the idea that she is, based on her position in troll society and her attitude to the sea animals she keeps in cages for their own good (and also because they are funny and colourful and she loves them.)

i mean, sollux is pretty funny and colourful, too.

while realistically i’m probably never going to finish it i’ve been working on and off on some fic looking at the early moments of their relationship drawing parallels between her looking after ‘sick’ cuttlefish and how she wants to apply the same attitudes to ‘fixing’ sollux’s mental problems and how she thinks she’s doing good but it’s HORRIBLY PATRONISING AND OFFENSIVE.

actually i can’t really get myself interested in feferi/sollux at all if feferi isnt well intentioned but inadvertently bigoted, it just doesnt do much for me unless she’s treating him like a lost injured baby animal that needs to be taken care of (not that most of her animals were actually lost or injured i guess since it says in her intro she captures them on purpose for their own good, but..) and she doesn’t quite realise that it is kind of a douche move to assume you know what’s best for everybody better than they do because she’s never been challenged about her opinions except by people who think culling lowbloods is a good idea

like i like to imagine her being really pleased with herself for being romantically involved with a yellowblood and sollux sometimes feels a bit uncomfortable about it but he cant work out why because it IS pretty impressive that someone of her caste is so in favour of social reform, and she’s so nice to him, and he obviously doesn’t know what’s best for himself anyway, right, i mean look at him

not that i have anything against people shipping it as innocuous and fluffy, that is p. reasonable, it just doesnt interest me very much to interpret feferi as flawlessly troll socially progressive
